Peter Lowe, CEO of GET MOTIVATED Seminars, made this audacious remark, “I was looking for a deeper, lasting peace; a spirituality that would give real meaning and purpose to my life.”
Through his efforts of promoting success and leadership throughout the world, he has brought together leaders from every culture to tell their stories. Last summer, I had an opportunity to attend one of the biggest inspiration events in America..a GET MOTIVATED Seminar. Prior to going, I was quite apprehensive about it anyway and after much encouragement from a fellow colleague I finally took a leap of faith and made it through the doors of I-wireless convention center in Moline, Illinois. Present at this 25th anniversary commemorative event were speakers like Zig Ziglar, Dr. Robert Schuller, Rick Belluzo, Dr. Earl Mindell, Rudy Guiliani, Tamara Lowe, etc. I can honestly say I was one of the transformed souls among the over 10,000 participants. If anyone hears about the “Get Motivated Seminars” they almost instinctively think it’s just another business seminar out there. Despite all the business insights, at the core of it was a greater message; it was about the spiritual side of leadership.
I listened to principled men and women share their success stories and how God had gotten them to where they currently are and it was quite a wake up call for me. Today, my intention is to remind you that whatever you do, however you lead, whatever role you find yourself, as you seek personal and career growth, one thing is evident among great leaders, they are spiritual men and women. As Charlie Jones, one of America’s leading experts on leadership, puts it, “I’m convinced that spiritual growth is more important than education; you can get an education and not grow but you can’t help getting an education if you grow spiritually.”
Peter Lowe, went on to mention that there is indeed lasting peace when biblical principles are applied in our daily routines. As scripture reminds us in Phil 4:7, “Do not be anxious over anything, but in all things through prayer and supplication, make your request known to God. And God’s peace, which is far greater than human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.” Dr. Wayne Dyer more profoundly highlights that, “For we are not Human Beings having a spiritual experience, we are Spiritual Beings, having a human experience.”
